The goal of UT 87 modern single-story residence in Timisoara was to provide a cozy indoor-outdoor connection. This U-shaped house is not just a modern minimalist structure merging of inspiration and architecture but also a very functional one, allowing the fluidity of the living space right from the entrance to the backyard. All the sectors integrate harmoniously into the house. The main entrance opens onto a spacious single space that unites the open-plan kitchen, dining space and living room. The kitchen becomes the focal point of the house, representing the venue where all spaces merge and where the entertaining spaces flow outside to the indoor yard. The large windows oriented both towards the inside and back courtyard, floods the space with light that enhance the beauty of the interior design, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The multitude of transparent perspectives allows the inhabitants to witness nature in a peaceful and creative environment. Like there wasn’t enough light coming into the rooms, the white paint ensures the light that comes in gets bounced off every wall.
Besides the kitchen, dining space and living room, the house includes also one master bedroom with an en suite bathroom, a kids bedroom with a second bathroom in its proximity, a third room that can be configured as a third bedroom or office, a private parking place and a “hidden” food and storage pantry. An exacting attention to detail is evident in different corners of the house: the entry porch light highlights an artistic rock structure, in the master bedroom at the lower-ground level was included a window towards the backyard that concludes in a “Peek-a-Boo” game space absolutely delighted by the children, the second bathroom features a frosted high glass shower that can be seen also from the kitchen, the pantry is hidden behind a kitchen tall cabinet door.
Because the south side of the construction is bonded to the neighboring house a light and ventilation well was inserted that serves the kitchen, the pantry and also the master bathroom. From the master bathroom you can access this space through a tall glass door right in front of the bathtub, giving you the possibility to “grow” there a small green indoor garden full with tropical plants, which would delight your eyes when sitting and relaxing in the bathtub. Beautiful light-colored wood heated floors and plenty of natural night flow throughout the home's open plan compliments the airy layout of the house.
