Between 15th and 19th of August there have been registered
4 questions concerning the participation in the 2nd stage of the BETA 2016 competition!
The organizers answers are marked with BOLD under
each question.
1. I have one question: Is there a general problem
with your website or for the 2nd stage there is no LAYOUT after
which we should present our works? I am asking this because when I click to
download the Layout at the end of the Registration form available on your
website nothing happens.
For the 2nd stage of the competition,
every work has to be presented respecting a specific LAYOUT. For each
competition category there is a different layout that can be downloaded from
our website.
As we have communicate in the competition brief,
the Layout for the 2nd stage can be downloaded from the field Registration(registration form) or from the
field Categories available in the
menu of the competition website.
As you have noticed, there was a problem with the
download button available in the Registration
field and for that we apologise.
We have now solved this problem so please feel free
to download the Layout for the 2nd stage from the Categories field or from the Registration field (in both cases, choose
the category in which your work is situated and you will find the download
button Layout Exhibition).
2. In one of the last emails sent by the organizers
to the authors of the selected works for the 2nd stage of the
competition, you have mentioned about an extended A0 layout (“we would like to
recommend you to take advantage of the extended layout (A0) to present the
context in which your work is designed”); I can not find the A0
Layout on the website. In the competition brief it is specified that for the 2nd
stage you have to complete another registration form and to present your work
respecting another layout, called EXHIBITION LAYOUT, but as I have noticed you
can only download the layout for the 1st stage.
As we have mentioned in the previous answer, we
have now solved the problem with the download of the 2nd stage
Layout. Please feel free to download the Layout from the Categories field or from the Registration field available in the
menu of the competition website (in both cases, choose the category in which
your work is situated and you will find the download button Layout Exhibition).
3. On the "preselection" page (http://competition.betacity.eu/sr-latn/preselectie/),
previews of all participating works have been exhibited using the three
representative project images. These submitted images have been needlessly and
carelessly cropped into squares, more or less excluding important segments of
each picture, inflicting their appearance. I think it is important to show them
in the format and shape in the way they were submitted.
We apologise for the fact
that the submitted images have been cropped into squares.
We have solved this
problem.
4. In the panels for the II stage, can we include
drawings, images, etc. other than those we included in the first stage panel?
For the 2nd stage, every work will be presented using only one A0 (the format of the Layout provided by the
organizers ) that will contain all the the necessary materials for the work to be understood. Please keep in mind that
all the works submitted in the 2nd stage will be printed by
the organizers and exhibited in several locations. The exhibition is intended
to be a relating interface both within the profession and between the profession and
the socio-cultural environment in which it operates.
